I checked his feed and couldn't find it but he's been known to delete stuff. Also, his feed is horrendous. It's just patting himself on the back, talking about boycotting Macys, saying we have no freedom of speech, and how illegal immigrants kill everyone and bring disease. I'm not even spinning

Trump polling #1 among Republican candidates in North Carolina. No, really: Trump Leads GOP Field in North Carolina

He's dragging the party into his little joke.

There is something clinically wrong with you if, in a contest of more than 1 person, you favor Donald Trump over any other person who might be your government's leader, whether or not said other person(s) have placed their name(s) among those to be considered for the job.

Hence North Carolina needs to be institutionalized.

Would be very interested to hear from Doll is Mine, Gimpy, Napalm, and any other BSGers who've got close ties to Greece/family members who are in country/etc. I guess by the time I wake up Tspiras will have released his detailed plan, but his performance this week and that of his government thus far has seemed to have won few plaudits in Brussles. It seems very weird that given the awfulness that the bank closures/ATM restrictions are causing he wasn't ready with an immediate counter proposal that might get them lifted. Though I guess if the future of the country is at stake one shitty week isn't the biggest price to pay. But seriously, there should've been a counter proposal in place from the Greek government in case of a No vote that they could've passed along immediately, and that there wasn't seems pretty telling.

Anyhow, to the Greek relations of heroic BSGers...
Are people expecting that an agreement will be reached for another bailout and to remain within the Euro?
Do people want an agreement to be reached?
Do people think Greece will be better off remaining within the Euro or should Greece go back to its own currency?
Do people feel the blame for the current EU/Greece predicament is primarily the EU's fault? Greece's fault? Or should blame be evenly shared?

The South Carolina legislature has voted to take the Confederate battle flag down. That is nice.

Democrats controlled both houses the South Carolina legislature from 1878-1994. A Democratic legislature and a Democratic governor (who served as a proud Democrat in the United States Senate until 2005) were responsible for the Confederate battle flag being raised over the state capital in 1962 in large part in defiance of desegregation. The ex-governor is still alive. He's still a Democrat. A Republican, David Beasley, was the governor who gathered momentum to take the flag from the main part of the statehouse off to a Confederate war memorial. Nikki Haley, another Republican, will be governor as the flag is finally removed from statehouse grounds, largely due to her behest. The Republican Party will still catch every last piece of blame for the flag's existence.

Not Greek, but have Greek friends who have relatives living in Greece.

Maybe he couldn't find his favorite cat 'o nine tails. Or perhaps his dismissed finance minister drove off on his motorcycle with it.

I'm not sure you have much of an idea of what's gone on there, and what will probably continue to go on,with or without Germany's (more accurately, EC central bankers/owners) benevolent support.

Even if Tsipras had an alternative harsher austerity plan in his hip pocket - he may have, but I'm not sure why he'd bother - why shouldn't he, for political and practical purposes, leave it up to Germany (basically) to suggest one of an array of slightly less austere alternatives it/they have already modeled out? Come back from the meetings with a black eye, a missing tooth, a note telling him one of his family members had been kidnapped, so he'd better get his operation in line? Think about how he got the job.

Memphis voted to take down the monument to Nathan Bedford Forrest. He was the first grand wizard of the KKK, also massacred Union soldiers after they surrendered. Formerly a slave owner and trader, he was a hateful bigot. Memphis decided to recognize his great service to our country until yesterday. I bet it was liberal Democrats that did it.

I dunno, seems like racist shitheads will ultimately take most of the brunt. Why republican politicians would want to suck up to those yucks confuses me

All 20 South Carolina House members who voted against taking the flag down were Republicans. No doubt voted this way in order to get Democratic support.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/247287-george-w-bush-charged-100k-for-speech-at-wounded-veterans-event

Former Marine Eddie Wright, a former member of Helping a Hero’s board, criticized the former first family on Wednesday.

“For him to be paid to raise money for veterans that were wounded in combat under his orders, I don’t think that’s right,” Wright said.

“You sent me to war,” he said. “I was doing what you told me to do, gladly for you and our country and I have no regrets.”

“But it is kind of a slap in the face,” added Wright, who lost both of his hands during a rocket attack in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004.

Unbelievable, but not really.

nobody blames the republican party for the flag's existence, they blame the republican party for being racist. turns out a lot of racists really like this confederate battle flag. most of them vote republican.
