My office is right next to City Hall. Our building gave us a warning email about the Baltimore protests beginning shortly. We get plenty of protests here (like when the asshole cabs decide to drive around City Hall in circles honking for hours on end to protest their wages) but this is the first time they've increased security in our building. We shall see.

I think they suspect something similar is going on. The first time it happened in late March, which was the week of my class's midterm exam. Some of my students lost their answers in the middle of the test because the system went down. That was awesome. Their final assignment was due Tuesday, which has been pushed back three times, now due tomorrow. I'm supposed to assign the final exam this weekend, but not sure how that's gonna work if they don't get it fixed.

I think online classes are mostly stupid anyway, but they're really bad when the platform is inaccessible. If/when they figure out who is causing the shutdown I'm wondering if it'll be a kid looking to avoid midterms and finals. Though if you're smart enough to do this you could probably handle whatever the State University of New Jersey is throwing at you.

In my day, when students wanted to get an extension for no reason, they'd call in a bomb scare.

what's the oldest file of your own creation on your current computing device?

I have some old PDFs from 1999 that I still use. A couple of Word docs, too. Seems kind of neat/weird
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Can you freeze mushrooms? I mean, I know you can, but should you? I'm thinking they probably would not turn out well after defrosting.

How to store Mushrooms to extend its shelf life?

To extend their shelf life it is best to store them whole and un-peeled in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge.

For a longer term option, mushrooms may be frozen for 6-8 months, but they should be cooked first and placed in freezer safe containers. Some benefits of proper food storage include eating healthier, cutting food costs and helping the environment by avoiding waste.
