Yea I found the manifest from when my Welsh (paternal) grandmother came over. My Sicilian (maternal) side came over some time in the late 20s.

young bucks. mine came over in three separate rides in 1906 i believe. my mom-mom was born in 1908, first in the family to be a US citizen. 100+ years strong. we have no familial links to either england (manchester area i believe) or italy (some podunk town in the Campania region) at this point. we're just americans now. USA USA

My dad is a fifth-generation Californian, possibly with connections to Boalsburg, PA going back even farther. If I'm descended from the Boals of Boalsburg then we go back to revolutionary times (but family genealogists have been unable to establish this for sure).

My mother's family is Irish by name but we have no information on how they came to America.

I can't remember the word for all non-women, but it will come to me later. :)

I thought the gender divide around sports was that men couldn't play women's sports, but women were allowed to play men's sports. Said another way, only women can play women sports. (Grade school boys have sued their way onto field hockey teams, but I can't think of other examples.)
