I think the train station at the airport is getting rebuilt so you have to train to Newark and a shuttle to the airport if you're doing that.

One idea is maybe to park somewhere else on the Northeast Corridor line of NJT (Metropark?) that has parking that's cheaper than the airport. Might save $100, but have to deal with the obnoxiousness of the train with baggage and maybe an extra shuttle, so depends how much that's worth to you.

I've got no experience with the limo thing so can't help you there.

tix were only available through newark because it was through a travel agency. we bought a package because neither of us have been to europe before. she used to live in chile but it's nothing like this.

as far as the ramp discussion, i thought you speed up at the end of the ramp to merge into traffic while my dad and sister thought you didn't want to do that..i said that causes more accidents because you end up stopping and we came to a head. i said it was 'bullshit' and stormed out of the room for five minutes. it was quite a moment for pacino.

You're right. More problems are solved by the gas pedal than the brake. If you need to adjust speed, easier to slow down than speed up.

Friend's car got stolen while parked at Newark airport in their pay lot. Inside job presumably.

You can take NJ Transit or Amtrak and then a monorail to the airport. Or probably there's a bus.

Not that it makes any difference now, but Europe is pretty easy to do on your own. I do hope you got a good package and not one of those that puts you in a hotel out in the Euro boondocks.

Reading to Newark is a pretty easy drive though.

It's your honeymoon. Nut up. Just pay for the limo, seriously. You are flying transatlantic, get drunk on the ride to the airport, have a ridiculous dinner and sleep on the flight.

This is your honeymoon, do something dumb, you only get one (that's how I viewed it anyway), have fun and experience life. Presumably you can't afford 1st class plane tix (we couldn't) so do something you wouldn't normally and have a limo take you right to the curb, pay the extra $10 for curbside checkin. Drink champaign the whole time, and just don't give a fuck.

yup and this is while people in the pacific northwest are the worst drivers. they'll almost come to a stop or massively slow down at a merge point. or completely ignore the signs that have been telling you to merge for 2 miles so they can all wait to do it at the last minute.

i think if people knew how to merge it wouldn't be an issue to stay in your lanes to the merge point. it should theoretically loosen up traffic and make the process easier
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

We just went to China & Japan for 2 weeks. Car stayed here: http://www.newarklongtermparking.com/

I think I paid about $170. Good service, secure lot.

i remember my driving instructor when i was 16 have me speed up and it was easy as pie after me trying to merge with my father and having it take forever. since then, i've been hitting that gas. the times when i drive to work i end up getting stuck behind people stuck on the on ramp who has completely stopped...i then go around them and merge. i mean, they are literally just sitting there waiting for 500 yards of free space during rush hour!

As TP says, you can get better rates at some long-term parking facilities near the airport. We did something similar for Hawaii and saved a ton of money.

I'm taking Amtrak to Newark Penn Station and cabbing it to the airport. Not going to wait for the shuttle.
