I slept at home, my wife slept at the hotel.

Yup, rehearsal dinner the night before, then spent the night at my parents house that night and married the next day. There's a superstition that you aren't supposed to see the bride before the ceremony on wedding day.

I enjoyed staying at my parents house the night before. Even though I already lived with my soon to be wife, it was a nice way to spend my last night before getting married. Sat out with my dad and had a scotch and cigar, slept in my childhood bedroom, my mom made me breakfast in the morning. All of my childhood friends that were in/going to the wedding met at my parents house in the morning which was cool. Enjoy it man, my wedding day / honeymoon was the best time of my life, take it all in and try to remember as much of it as you can. It goes by too fast.

Also, if you get a chance to bring home some leftovers, do it. Unless you're leaving directly from the wedding for the honeymoon. One of the biggest regrets of my life is that we didn't take a few of the leftover prime ribs from my wedding.
