Same here. I always crap up the ceiling, no matter what gadget I try or how long I spend taping it.

Was pleasantly surprised last summer when I was painting baby mose-ette's room that I don't loathe painting anymore. thanks, adderall!

hate painting. probably stems from all of it i did for my summer job which turned into my full time which turned into a bunch of idiots completely fucking me over. painted and greased every fire hydrant (230ish) in town one summer.

I hate painting too. Mostly because of the cleanup. And the prep. And the brushing. And the rolling.

Other than that, its very enjoyable.

yeah the prep definitely still gives me anxiety. as far as cutting in, luckily i didn't have to worry about that too much in her room b/c we ended up doing crown moulding (which was a shit show in and of itself)

did about 4 hours of painting on Sunday. i just rolled though. friend bought shitty paint without primer. edging is such a pain in the ass though. i've found some pretty good tools that can edge pretty well though. i'm OK with a brush edging but i could use some work.
