I used to have the same issue.

Now I do two things:

1) Schedule my appts for the opening bell, so I'm not queued up behind all the laggards
2) When I make my appt, advise the office staff that I need to get in and out on time. They actually prefer to make sure that happens than to hear you bitch about it later. They have plenty of disempowered patients to sit around waiting - you don't have to be one.

Some offices are better than others too.

in a weird twist of perceptions, late appointments is usually a sign of a better, more thorough, doctor. Insurance/industry standards want you to complete a patient visit in like 8 minutes. Often, that isn't nearly enough. A doctor who cares will disregard the timer and take whatever time he/she needs to do proper evaluation and / or procedures. And this pushes everyone else back.

And of course then there are the patients who just won't shut up.

i got these orvis khaki cargos for christmas last year, and i was like meh, these are old people shorts... fast forward almost a year later and these are most likely my all time favorite pair of shorts. they weigh nearly a half a ton, but they have been indestructible, i feel safe from all the flying debris that one may encounter. these are the cadillacs in the cargo world. they must have cost around 70-80 dollars... that's a shit load in the cargo world.

i would gladly pay the price, however they discontinued the model i am wearing. any suggestions for something comperable out there?
