I mean, it took me two days to slap some plywood and cover it with tar paper on top of my shed, and I didn't give a shit about anything that keeping the inside of the shed sort of dry.

I know a little bit about construction. The most time consuming parts should be setting up/leveling whatever method of foundation he's using and possibly framing the roof if he doesn't have access to drywall stilts or a decent ladder. Anything longer is due to a lack of skill or equipment, in which case he shouldn't be undertaking the job alone.

i take on solo projects all the time where when i begin I don't have the proper skills and/or equipment

by the time I'm complete, sometimes i do, sometimes i don't

I'm fine with that attitude for fixing something up around the house or remodeling a room. It's how people learn after all. Building anything bigger than a garden shed is too much for one person without the tools or experience. Got two or three buddies willing to work through the weekend for the promise of pizza and beer, awesome. But if you don't, or if none of you know the difference between a speed square and a framing square, then the job is too big for you right now. Especially if you're building something outside in an area where your neighbors are close enough that the regular use of hammers and power tools will be a legitimate complaint.

I know you pronounce the "t" in Moët if that helps.

It's pronounced as you suggest in French.

Didn't eat dinner last night and ended up just drinking like 10 beers instead. Decided to play catch up by eating a pound of ground beef, 1/2 cup of rice and bag of frozen corn for dinner tonight.

Should feel real good in an hour or so.

It shouldn't take longer than three days.

This is a huge shed. I'd say its 10 ft tall. Hard to tell the lxw, though.

So, more like a small garage... or a meth lab.

used to have a dude around here that was a little person that would always rap gangsta rap up and down the street to himself and everyone at the top of his lungs. he must've moved, a sad day for all involved.

That was a good question, I had to look it up to be sure. You pronounce the "t" there as well, even though French pronunciation would seem to indicate not to.

The reasoning is the same as in Moët: it's a proper name, and not a French one, so it gets pronounced as in its original language.

As Steve Martin once said, French is a difficult language. They have a different word for everything.
