May 2014 my username will become outdated. Vegas switching to 725 area code. I get to keep my 702 number but anyone registering starting that may will get 725.

it doesn't seem like vegas is actually 'switching', per se, just getting an "overaly"; i.e. 2nd area code, just like the philly area got 610, and now 484. Almost all new numbers are 484 these days, but occasionally someone will get a 215 with a new number as they get surrendered and put back in the pool.

In related news, I just learned that the new overlay area code for florida in the area of cape canaveral/kennedy is "321". Yes, they did it on purpose.

I got a 215 number when I signed up for my cell in 2008. Suck it 267.

Dozens of brown bears in Russia have developed a nose for aviation fuel.

The bears have been photographed sniffing kerosene and gasoline from containers used to power generators and helicopters by Kronotsky Nature Reserve workers in the far east of Russia.

Photographer Igor Shpilenok, 52, said some bears even stalked helicopters and waited for drops of fuel to leak during take-off, the Daily Mail reported.

The bear would then spend some time at the site sniffing the ground, taking deep breaths and rolling around, before digging a hole in the place with the strongest odour and lying there in a 'nirvana' position.
