if you have a bed it's not weird. mattress on the ground is weird. mattress with wood in a bed isn't weird

the only disadvantage to boxsprings is their inflexibility when moving them. they're great

if it's queen or larger you can get a split boxspring

I do have a split box spring for a queen. Only way it was getting up the steps. The problem is I have a frame, box spring, and the mattress. When you add everything up, I almost have to jump to get on my bed. Plus I have low ceilings. Gotta get rid of something.
