How does one go about getting one? I would gladly donate money to a police organization if they gave me a sticker.
Just contact your local FOP lodge. For Norristown I think it's just a $15 donation per year for an associate membership (you get a shield, sticker, and card for your wallet).
So for $15 a year you get to break the law. Sorry, but that's iust complete and utter bullshit. and people wonder why cops are hated by so many. If you're rich enough to send us money, you don't have to follow the law. Do they have a sticker for the poor or are the poor allowed to use their benefits card to pay off the cops? Seriously, how is this any better than a cop taking hush money?
I think Trent was joking with the who "you can do pretty much anything" talk. In my experience the folks who make the donations genuinely want to support their local law enforcement groups. It's not about getting a pass to break the law or anything like that. My shield sits in the glove box, but I do have one of the stickers on the back windshield. I was pulled over a couple years ago for an expired, out-of-state registration. I got a ticket. I got my car registered and went to court like just like anyone would have had to.

My wife's friend's cleavage was instrumental in getting me out of a speeding ticket several years ago.
"instrumental cleavage", in addition to being a great name for a band, practically demands further elucidation
She was sitting in the back of my car wearing a V-neck. She leaned forward to talk to the cop. Sufficient?

I'm sure it does depend on the cop and your attitude. I knew a guy who is a state cop and he said he gave people breaks when they had stickers and whatnot. I just don't think it's right. And if you need to pay for that sticker, then that makes it even worse, imho. Anyway, it's more of a pet peeve than anything anyone said here. In my experience, PA cops were pretty worthless and Philly cops were even worse. I've found cops in other areas helpful, but not in PA. Literally every interaction I've had with them has been negative, from leaving me on a country road with a flat tire in a snow storm to telling my parents I broke down our own door (which I didn't do) when I told the cop exactly who did it and he couldn't bother to walk across the street to check. A shady neighbor in Cheltenham threatened to kill my wife and that cop couldn't even be bothered to write up a report. Letting people off because they have a sticker or badge or big tits is just another indication of how useless cops are in my admittedly anecdotal experience.
