Family member just found out they have a baseball sized cancerous colon tumor. CT Scan later shows its spread to throat and kidney. I guess it's a matter of time unfortunately.

Only lost 1 person in my life, when I was 15.

I'm at a loss.

Thanks for letting me vent.

In my family we deal with tragedy through black humor so I'm always at a loss for how to support others in a way that doesn't offend them or just sound trite. Regardless, I hope things turn out better than they seem now. I lost my dad very suddenly and my mom after her own long struggle with cancer. There's no good way to lose someone but take advantage of the time you have now.

at the bar last night i was talking to a friend how i don't have vivid dreams anymore and wish i did. so naturally i have my first nightmare in like 15 years. it was absolutely terrifying and i didn't want to go to sleep when i woke up in a panic. i didn't want to fall back asleep and end up in the same dream.

i've had some really weird omen type dreams that have come true and i'm hoping that this one isn't in the same vein.

Slept until 9:30 this morning. That's the latest I've slept in in probably over a year. Feels good.

Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone.

I got drunk last night and started preaching the benefits of intermittent fasting to this fat girl.

That's awful, but losing someone to cancer quickly is a lot easier on you then watching them waste away for months. Still, :(

It's all awful, but I agree. It's also really bad to watch someone one waste away for years with Alzheimer's. The shock of a sudden death, however, is no picnic, having lost an aunt and a sister in law (who was only 40) that way.

Speaking of watching someone waste away, this song makes me bawl.
