well im just saying if i am going fast already and generally passing cars at a good clip why should i have to slow down in the right lane bc some asshole wants to go 90 plus? i think that person should slow down until there is a reasonable gap that allows me to go the same speed in the right lane, allow him to pass, and then have enough time to get back in the left lane to continue passing.

bc that's the point of the left lane. move over until hes gone, then go back in. you're the one acting more important by determining what an appropriate speed is in the left lane

i had 0 beers. i was at some rock climbing competition spectating.

I'm mostly with calvinballs. Left lane is for passing. So if I'm in the process of passing people I'm going to stay in the left lane and I don't give a damn if the person behind me wants to pass people faster. When there's a break, i.e., I'm no longer passing people,then I'll pull over.

I'm certainly not speeding up and risking a ticket because I feel bad about he guy who wants to drive 90. Though if he's enough of an asshole that it feels dangerous to be driving around him I'll look for an opportunity to pull over a little earlier.

I think the dude is talking about people who are either passing really slowly(i.e. going 1 MPH faster then the right lane) or not at all. If that's the case, speed up a bit and get over so the guy behind you do his thing. Going the same speed as a car in the lane next to you while someone is trying to pass should be punishable by death.
