Apparently these Aussie morning zoo DJs called Princess Kate's hospital ward as a prank and the nurse patched them through. She was distraught over doing so and killed herself

No chance of getting 'patched through' that way in the US. If anything, the oppo problem will happen; someone fully authorized/okayed to speak with the hospitalized party won't get through. Happily nowadays there are these cellphone gadgets so anyone relying on hospital's phones to get in touch with patients is doing it the hard way.

i don't know if there was any good karma involved here or what, but little did i know while cutting across the grass to get to my car at a friend's apartment complex, i had stepped in dog shit. i got into my car, drove away, got stopped at a traffic light, and something smelled like shit and it seemed to be coming from the floor. this has not been azrider's first encountered with shit so i calmly got out of my car and proceeded to scrape the sole of my shoe against my tire. little did i know that when i looked up the light had not only tuned green, but one of those huge f450 trucks was easily doing about 65-70 through the red light. if i had not stepped in dog shit, azrider may not be here today.

I'm sure all the chubby chicks in AZ are grateful for dog shit.
