I remember reading that issue of Spy. And that's exactly what I was thinking about when I made those posts above. There's a huge difference through--the Spy article was really targeting "yuppies".

Anyway, the problem really is the NY Times article. Irony doesn't seem to be really a big part of how I understand today's hipster. Because it seems to me what really makes today's "hipster" interesting is how much they resemble the nerds of a few decades ago, or more precisely how they've transformed many activities, even sports and beer, into citadels of nerdom. And these interests are pursued with obsessive attention to detail. I suppose if you focus on some of the sillier aspects (weird facial hair, drinking PBR) you could detect irony there. But, the hipster of today is very different from the trendy dilettante of yesteryear.

I would go with an autumn harvest bouquet. Orange carnations, maybe some gold or bronze poms. You can do roses as well - yellow roses are pretty with orange carnations.

You can also do orange lillies or tulips with some purple iris.
