I wanted to but the prof I'm TAing for never had before. Definitely will be making a harder sell on him or whoever I TA for next semester to use it.

It's really useful. It identifies anything in its massive database, which includes papers students at other universities have submitted as well as published sources. It can also help students figure out if they're citing too much (rare) or not citing enough, so it's more than a radar gun.
