as Arizona DRAGGGGGGSSSSSSSS ONNNNNN in counting ballots, Carmona may eventually win???? :
Former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona conceded on election night last Tuesday to six-term U.S. Congressman Jeff Flake after about three quarters of precincts had reported, showing Flake with a lead of about six percentage points.

But nearly a week later, with more than 340,000 ballots yet to be counted, the tally has tightened to about four points, leaving the Carmona campaign watching closely to ensure that each and every ballot is counted.

The most recent results show Flake in the lead by 79,547 votes in a race in which 2 million ballots were cast.

As of Monday afternoon, the Secretary of State's office reported that an estimated 171,889 early votes and 171,047 provisional ballots had yet to be tallied statewide.

with theseprovisional ballots that poll workers made voters fill out, for their vote to actually, you know count the voter has to come back and say 'I MADE THAT!!!' it's ridiculous

thatd be pretty amazing if carmona won. he would need to win like 211k of the remaining 343k votes.

something like that anyways.

When you get a clearance, you sign a notarized consent document giving the FBI permission to investigate you at anytime. It's not illegal to have an affair. Nothing he did, that we know of, is illegal ... But he did jeopardized his clearance and has no choice to resign since his clearance will be revoked.

Plus isn't one of the problems the fact that he didn't disclose the affair at the time of the clearance?

So now the government is supposed to believe him when he says "Oay, yeah, I lied back then that there wasn't anything to disclose, but I'm TOTALLY telling the truth now when I say everything is out there."

Is the President held to the same standard re: extra-marital affairs? Seems like the risk of blackmail is the same, and he presumably knows some secrets too...

Well they Republicans tried to hold the president to the same standard, but it would seem the answer to that question is no.

The tally hasn't tightened. When he conceded he was trailing by about 80k votes. He's still down 79,547 votes.

Yes, for the most part, if you disclose it as something from the past in your initial investigation they usually let it go, depending on how long ago it was. If it was a few months ago, forget it. If it was three years ago, you're usually fine. The initial investigation is really to see how trustful you are. If you're caught lying about something, you're done. I tell friends all the time to never lie on the questionnaire. Affairs are a little tricky though. The thinking is "If your wife/family can't trust you, how can the US Government trust you?"

I don't know how it works for elected officials, but I know it's a different process and different requirements.

edit:

How it works for Congress

Which is worse? The President being vulnerable or the President not being able to know things that are going on involving the US government?

Ummm...Arizona went to Romney, no?

http://news.yahoo.com/arizona-woman-run ... 26220.html

PHOENIX (Reuters) - An Arizona woman, in despair at the re-election of Democratic President Barack Obama, ran down her husband with the family car in suburban Phoenix on Saturday because he failed to vote in the election, police said on Monday.

Holly Solomon, 28, was arrested after running over husband Daniel Solomon following a wild chase that left him pinned underneath the vehicle.

Daniel Solomon, 36, was in critical condition at a local hospital, but is expected to survive, Gilbert police spokesman Sergeant Jesse Sanger said.

Police said Daniel Solomon told them his wife became angry over his "lack of voter participation" in last Tuesday's presidential election and believed her family would face hardship as a result of Obama winning another term.

Fortunately, thanks to Obamacare, he's covered.

But our internals say we're going to win by 1/2 million votes!!
