I don't drive around with an Irish flag flying off my car or anything, but there are little customs and traditions that I grew up with, music we listened to etc. that I share with my kids, what is wrong with that? My wife's parents both were born and raised in Europe, (Poland and Slovakia) and moved here as 18 year olds, my wife has tons of traditions that her parents brought and instilled in her and she is passing a lot of that on to our kids. So what? We are Americans through and through, but that Polish, Slovak, Irish mixture that my kids are getting is one of the things that makes America so #$!&@ awesome it's the ultimate melting pot of culture and religion. What is inherently "American", if you think we should all abandon the culture that our family had to take up the native culture, then shouldn't we be raised learning Native American customs?
