Politics: Spreading Santorum All Over This Great Nation

Newt's speech was a series of lines meant to elicit a "oh, snap!" response. I enjoyed it.

I keep hearing about how Romney has a "Southern" problem. Barack Obama couldn't win TN, WV, KY, MS, AL, GA, SC, AK, OK, or TX if he personally wrote $1,000 checks to every resident of every one of those states. The Republicans need someone who can win outside of those states - which Romney can. The Republicans could run the devil himself and beat Obama in the South.

I don't dislike Romney, but I wish I was going to be voting for someone else in November.
Do it again!

i attend more half-assed dullwitted bidness conferences than I'm comfortable admitting

conservatively 20% of the speakers at these snoozefests routinely out-orate Romney

He is just not good at this. Either stumbles over the words or delivers them flat like a bad Mamet actor.

compare the passages of his speech that are meant to be rousing with those of the man in Stoopidville

he's so much less sincere it makes me uncomfortable

The only drama on the screen is the shrinking margin in Ohio, which is now under 10k...

jh, how does it look in terms of what's still to be reported? Rich areas or, um, less so?

Santorum is going to win. Most of what is out is Romney, but he's not really winning anywhere by much.

Unless the parts of Cuyahoga that are still out have a lot more votes than I think is possible

Thanks. Sounds like you're saying it'll narrow, either way, and probably turn to be a 1-2 point win for one of them. Guy on MSNBC just said that Romney's people are counting on Cuyahoga too...

It would be pretty interesting if NOOT dropped out. I'm not actually sure it would help Santorum as much as some are assuming, but either way it would be a more interesting race.

Michael Moore with a good point...what does it say about Mitt Romney that he can't beat the guy that can't file the papers (Santorum)?

fwiw, Bill Press and Stephanie Miller are going to air their radio shows in the mornings on Current TV now. It's becoming a real network now, with three original shows and two radio programs for 9 hours of content a day besides marijuana and weather shows.

He's going to beat him in delegates in Ohio because of the filing problems. Santorum is still on the ballot statewide, so it's not like the problems should effect him in that respect.

Michael Moore doesn't make good points.

Stranger than truth: fringe media organization rebuts Newt's assertion that high gas prices are Barry's fault - and does it before Obama became President

Right, but the delegates aren't much the point; we all know Romney's going to win the most delegates. In a way we're back to the old-school, pre-1972 idea of primaries as a "test of strength," where the point is to show the guys in the smoke-filled rooms who can and can't win in the general. And Romney just gives no indication he can.

Meanwhile Chuck Todd basically just said it's a tie and they won't call it tonight.
