Random Ain't No Thread I Ever Heard Of

I just caught up on this thread. Never had pho, is it like Cup Soup?

There is now a cat in the office.

Turkey Hill's Iced Teas have really stepped their game up since the last time I tried them. No longer an unacceptable level of cloudy.

Blasphemy.

Hell, real Japanese or Taiwanese ramen isn't anything like Cup Soup.

Pho is incredible, it might be my favorite food. There might not be any places in Dutch country but if you head into hbg, which has a sizable Vietnamese population, I could recommend a place or two for you to try.

I was kidding about the Cup Soup thing lethal. Glad you bit on it though. Biggest reason I've never had it is it would have to be an actual effort to drive the 45 minutes to an hour into Harrisburg or York to find a vietnamese restaurant, but it's only a 3 block walk down to the typical americanized chinese place or 2 blocks to the pizza place. Guess which ones I usually choose.

Never had any in the rose city. Any good? There's supposedly some good spots in Lancaster also. Central Pa has a pretty sizeable Vietnamese population and as a result pretty above average pho resteraunts. Probably not Philly good, but better than any place I've tried in NYC.

Google has informed me that Pho Miss Saigon has recently moved to Hershey so maybe I'll give that a try.

I'm no expert so I can't compare really, and it was a long time ago, but if I recall it was received as about average by my friend's pho-lovin' girlfriend

Average is good, then I can be happy if I try it elsewhere. Unlike the first time I had sangria, it was in spain around apple harvest season and I've never been satisfied drinking it again.

I have some second or third cousins that live in Hershey and I think one of them owns a restaurant. Can't vouch for its quality though.

Same rules as pho places. Go to a primarily ramen specialty shop. If they serve sushi, don't eat the ramen.

Don't eat it in NYC the first time or you'll have the Spanish sangria feeling (for me, the first time I had Thai food was in Thailand and it took me like 5 or 6 years before I could eat it and not compare it unfavorably to even random mall food court in Bangkok pad thai).

I can guarantee that parents don't know what pho is, and my guess is that 2/3 siblings have no idea.
