They're solid, that was my lunches for a while

But with the roast you get a great dinner when you pull it out of the oven. Really no big deal, just tie 'er up and stick a lemon and rosemary/thyme in the hole and blast on pepper and salt. And it's fun to try to carve it adroitly

You can make a really great home made soup out of the carcass too. It's EZ.

We've got a movement here. Roast chicken is a) always good b) easy to do c) always good

fresh chicken's best, you could do frozen if you have to but I wouldn't.

If you've got time & a bucket, brining it makes the flavors pop
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Anyone have a good argument for going with Starwood Hotels over Marriot? Or racking up airline points on something other than Southwest?

Context is that I need something that will work in Albuquerque/Santa Fe and Denver. I've been told to go with Marriot and Southwest, but if Starwood is better I could make that change. JW Marriot in Denver is supposed to be great though. Southwest will work really well for those two cities and will let me get some free flights back to Philly.

This email was sent out at work this morning. She's a native French speaker, but it's still funny. She's looking for a ski helmet to buy. This is the whole email.

I'm not used to ski with helmet but I will obviously need for LAS skiing context and I wanted to buy one, and just thought that maybe one of you had one to leave me. I don't want to debate about the price, so yours will be mine...if you have a professional one with I don't know which qualities I don't really expect in the absolute, and would cost quite a lot of money for the use I'm gonna have of it and I wouldn't spend for that, it's just pointless to propose me then...

What's the problem with voice mail?

Roast chicken is pretty easy to do well, though getting it perfect (crisp skin, breasts still juicy, thighs cooked through) is very challenging. A probe thermometer is extremely helpful, and cutting out the back so the thighs can be facing up helps too.

i had a crazy taylor swift dream last nite. the world was crumbling and all i could think to do was woo her. people were dying and everyone was just trying to impress and get close to her. then at the end she kills everyone and is the reason for the worlds destruction, like palpatine-esque. my obsession with her is getting really weird

Had two clerical things I had to straighten out before the start of the semester, put them off till the last minute, so was going to take care of them today. Both of them had already been done for me when I checked on them.

She retired at the end of last year, so this fall semester was a complete shit show with the new department secretary learning the ropes. Took like two weeks for my tuition remission to be properly filed, and I had to do it in the end because she kept messing details up, whereas last year Sheila just did it for me. Seems the new secretary has found her footing now. The tuition remission was one of the things I thought I had to take care of, the other being switching a class because one got cancelled and a new one was scheduled, but apparently since I was in the old one I was automatically put into the new one.
