Random thoughts, meteorological edition

My older cousin sent me an email that sounds right out of a PTK conspiracy post

While nearly all Americans head to family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Senate is gearing up for a vote on Monday or Tuesday that goes to the very heart of who we are as Americans. The Senate will be voting on a bill that will direct American military resources not at an enemy shooting at our military in a war zone, but at American citizens and other civilians far from any battlefield — even people in the United States itself.

Senators need to hear from you, on whether you think your front yard is part of a “battlefield” and if any president can send the military anywhere in the world to imprison civilians without charge or trial.

The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s Republican debate. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself.

It goes on like that for a few paragraphs
"My hip is fucked up. I'm going to Africa for two weeks."

If I knew this tackle football game was only going to be 4 on 4, I wouldn't have showed. At least I got Pizza Hut afterwards.

I'm addressing you.
Are you going to let our emotional life be run by Time Magazine?
I'm obsessed by Time Magazine.
I read it every week.
Its cover stares at me every time I slink past the corner candystore.
I read it in the basement of the Berkeley Public Library.
It's always telling me about responsibility. Businessmen are serious. Movie
producers are serious. Everybody's serious but me.
It occurs to me that I am America.
I am talking to myself again.

Made two racks of ribs yesterday on the grill. Finally cracked the code to good homemade ribs...dry rub six hours early, low heat (250 degrees) for two hours, then baste the barbecue sauce on the ribs only during the last 15 minutes. Turned out very nicely...

Yes yes yes. I generally use a brown sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder rub. The longer you can letem marinate so to speak the better. And if you can slow cook on low temps for 3-4 hours then essentially broil them the final 10 min when you apply BBQ sauce you're set. Works with an oven nicely too.
