when i was a kid trick or treating would always be on a friday or saturday and it would go 6 to 9, not this 4 to 7 weekday bs.

see I hate that crap with everyone all confused as to what day everyone is actually trick or treating. just do it on Halloween. I don't remember that even being up for debate when I was young

but if you played your cards right, depending on the township/city you could have multiple nights to trick or treat. do they still have mischief night back east? we are talking tic-tacking, soaping windows, gift wrapping cars, toilet papering the trees... all that fun stuff that was cool when you were around 12-17.

Me either. I do remember little kids (2-5 year olds) would go in afternoon, but everyone else would wait until dark. Of course, this was before Bush extended Daylight Savings Time. Here in the Bible belt, Halloween just sucks. If Halloween falls on a Sunday or Wednesday, they'll reschedule trick or treating. Kids from the country flood into town and drive from house to house getting candy. Hardly anyone has a decent costume. And now, lots of organizations are doing something called "Trunk or Treating" where you go from car to car in a parking lot and get candy. Someone needs to inform these people that Halloween is every bit as Christian as Christmas.

Email just went around about our Austin office. Looking for a manager (which I'm not), but had a nice write-up about how fast the office is growing. I think I really need to wait until spring or summer before i start the conversation, and even then is probably way too early, but I'm becoming hell bent on making this happen ASAP.

I went back to playing with the cnn money calculator....jesus, it's cheaper than living in Lancaster. Lancaster. Right about even with Pittsburgh.

We usually get around 200 kids on Halloween. On pace to exceed that tonight.

I remember, as a kid, getting mad that I didn't get to enough houses. Then I would never finish my candy, even when it sat around until Christmas.

this is the first time in years I've stayed home. Usually I take the kids an army of their friends. Just had a pack of 20 kids basically wipe me out. Hate that my wife gets the little mini-size things. Difficult to apportion. I usually say take a couple, but how do you enforce?

early lead for best personality: kid dressed as banana

kid: trick or treat (pauses, heres blowhorn in the distance). Someone just stole my blowhorn, and now i hear it. that's not smart (absentmindedly takes candy, staring at where he heard the noise)
