I think I really need to wait until spring or summer before i start the conversation, and even then is probably way too early, but I'm becoming hell bent on making this happen ASAP.

I went back to playing with the cnn money calculator....jesus, it's cheaper than living in Lancaster. Lancaster. Right about even with Pittsburgh.

You should definitely do this. Austin is an incredible place, I love it there. It's somewhat pricey if you are looking in town but if your willing to live in the burbs, it's cheap, as you saw, like central Pa cheap. It's also pretty likely your office is in suburbs anyway. Do you know what part of town it's in?

Looks like it's right downtown by the Capitol. 111 Congress is the address.

Austin was one of the places I really wanted to go to, but it just didn't work out and I ended up out here. I left work today and on the radio was SRV, then the guy went into a whole spiel about how great Austin is. I'm taking that as a sign.

the giant 99 cent store-brand marshmallows are SO much better than the name-brank Kraft Jet-Puffed for $1.49

I've really enjoyed my visits to Austin, and it has a lot to offer, especially if you like music and beer and meat. I do think you need to be youngish (or at least not have children) to really take advantage of what the city has to offer though. It also has a great homebrew store.

Japan has the 24th largest standing army in the world per wiki. For some reason I thought it would be much smaller.
