the sock is made of a thicker cotton, the outer sock creates a cocoon around the dirty sock.

This is a recipe for crusty, not fully dried, stank socks.

probably with heavier socks it wouldn't work as well, but regular socks have thin fabric and the cleaner will seep right through

and unless you're putting tape over the opening of the bundled socks, the detergent will seep through there as well and clean it just as well

i don't clean it that way, but i'd imagine it works fine

exactly, how much detergent actually goes through the fibers of the inner sock?

i have OCD when it comes to wearing clothes, other than jackets, hats, or snow pants, i will not wear an item that has not been washed after wearing. include towels on the list too... and yeah i do laundry pretty much every other day.

man, it would be such a hassle for me to clean my towels every single use. I aim for a wash at least every three weeks

everyone does it, but they pretend that they don't reuse towels

i hate socks.

which is why i bought new balances that are made to wear with no socks(lots of powder!) and my vibrams that i don't use socks with (lots of powder!). basically have 200 pairs of socks and i wash once in a lifetime.
