They like the idea of being in the "hood", even though it really isn't. So they embellish how bad the neighborhood really is.

Just white kids trying to be cool.

I wouldn't go hang out at Sparkys or anything...or chill out in hunting park at 3 am. But that's common sense stuff.

Yes, it is.

Yeah, I didn't go to La Salle but it's one of the worst areas in the city. That "common sense stuff" doesn't just get thrown out the window. It's not like you can just traipse around.

I lived there sophomore year. Pretty decent stuff. Getting beer into the dorms was a little bit harder than it should have been though.

Really? I've visited friends there and I literally just walk by the security gate with a bookbag full of vodka. Did they check you or something?

I can only speak of my own experiences at La Salle, but I never got close to being jumped. My pride is rather non-existant, so I would cross the street every time I saw someone (OK, a black guy) and avoid any trouble. I was also always around at least four other people, so the worst I ever get was some kinda heckle from the corner druggie.

Reading the La Salle incident report was always funny though.

I've gotten searched on three separate occasions. One of those three times I was bringing in beer, so I just turned around and left when they asked to see my bag. I ended up taking it over to TC and drinking the beers there.

the only legit sketchy place is the Manor, and across the street at that Chinese place with the bullet proof glass

Really wouldn't want to walk up and down Belfield when it's too late. But the actual campus is pretty safe. Seems like TNC doesn't even know if he can walk to the shopping center by himself...

The people that live in the neighborhood, like off 20th street...a lot of kids would act like they were dangerous.

Saw way too many typical nerds wearing "The Boyz on 20th and Olney" shirts like they were fucking hard and living in the hood.

Think i just hate the whites

I think this is a great idea. As long as we're ALL invited.

But seriously, I thought this was something where you just paid a little cash and got your name on the sign. But no, my cousin sponsored a good stretch of Rte. 73 through Worcester and had to go out and pick up litter on a regular basis. Then he got into some bad ish and got out of the real estate business. This was like 10 years ago, and his name is STILL up on the sign. No, he doesn't continue to clean it. But somehow it doesn't look derelict.

Yeah if they ask you before the turnstile walk out. If they ask you after the turnstile, you're fucked.

And by fucked, i mean, you go to a hilarious Alcohol awareness class 3 times for like an hour each. So not fucked at all.

I was never asked after the turnstile, but my plan was always to just walk out anyway if that ever happened

My plan right now is to just say no and walk away. I think an enclosed bag falls under the category of things even a cop can't open without probable cause.

He is definitely talking about Neumann. It blows. Never live there.
