So, it's been a hell of a day.

Had the ultrasound and found out we are having a girl.

Experienced an Earthquake.

Found out that my company is probably going to get bought.

Still only 3:45, wish me luck

I work for BofA. Supposedly JP Morgan is going to buy us. There's a lot of stuff that is going to have to happen before anything will actually happen. Under usual circumstances a large merger takes like 12+ months, this could take like 18-24 months maybe more. We haven't heard anything directly, but it's getting reported around, so we'll see what's gonna happen, but I'm going to get my resume up to date and push hard to get my six sigma certs done before too long.

Anyone looking for a process engineer?

Yeah, another 3500 people, we just let go 2500 back in July, a quarter of my dept. got cut. I survived, I figure to be able to hang on a while since my position/projects are mandated by the OCC. But a merger is a whole other story...

Went there, it is awesome. Be careful though, neighborhood is a shithole. This is not a joke. I highly recommend only leaving campus when you are with people.

Yeah that's what I'm hearing. Only thing I'm really worried about is going to the shopping center and visiting my friend in the apartment next to the shopping center.

Which apartment TC (Theresa Court) or LA (La Salle Apartments)? This is assuming you know the names of the places. I'd highly recommend living in LA when you get the chance junior year. Highly recommend not living in TC when you get the chance.

If you got any questions just let me know. Its a really small campus/ student body. You will feel like you know everyone by Junior year.

No idea. I know someone living across the street from the shopping center and apparently there is apartments on the same side of the street as the shopping center.

How is that by the way? Is the shopping center bad? That is the only place I should ever be off campus without a group, id imagine.

The apartments on the same side of the street as the shopping center is LA. The one across from is TC. The shopping center was just opening my 2nd semester senior year. Everything seems to be pretty decent there. There is a Walgreens or CVS I forget which, a grocery store which has a ton of security, a dunkin doughnuts, a bank which has already been robbed numerous times and I think and eye care center. Across from the Walgreens/CVS (on the same side of the street as LA) there is a cool beer store. Everyone refers to the guy as Wister or Jamican Mike. The guy is awesome. It is a little row home bottom floor made into a beer store. He actually has a surprisingly good selection for a small place. They carried Sam Adams Oktoberfest when I was there. In general, the cheaper beers like natty are a little more expensive. Natty he charged $15 but the more expensive beers are cheaper. He doesn't charge tax. They used to deliver (amazing) but I heard that stopped.

Do you know what dorm you are living in?

Youll be fine,It's not bad. LA is definitely more fun than TC as far as apartments. La Salle kids just live in irrational fear of black people. It's overblown.

They like the idea of being in the "hood", even though it really isn't. So they embellish how bad the neighborhood really is.

Just white kids trying to be cool.

I wouldn't go hang out at Sparkys or anything...or chill out in hunting park at 3 am. But that's common sense stuff.
