I dunno. In my LOW it's a handy collective noun that encompasses not only reports, but other soft goods as well, such as computer programs, run books, software licenses, etc. If we scrapped that term, I don't know another non-klugy way to refer to all of this together. "The list of things we will be supplying for this engagement" just doesn't roll off the tongue.

Must suck for Y to be sandwiched between X and Z- two letters that accomplish very little and have little motivation to do better. Doesn't bring down Y though.
