I was #137 on the 1998 list. They hired 600 from that list. I never got called.

"roughing it" in Mexico - we're staying off the beaten path near the Mayan ruins at tulum. Lots of exploring and the wife speaks fluent Spanish. It's about time I learned the basics (dropped it in favor of Italian in ninth grade and no I do not speak Italian). I'm basically a one-man one-dog bachelor party tonight blasting music and drinking a Brooklyn variety pack. My buddy was supposed to stop over but bailed and it's her bachelorette party tonight. Might get blackout drunk listening to reggae (Toots and the Maytals right now).

Congrats McBride! It's been too long since I've been to Tulum. What a wonderful setting, with the ruins set above a sparkling white beach. There's spectacular diving and snorkeling around there if you're into that- and you can always take the ferry to Cozumel for a little nightlife should you get tired of roughing it. But you're right, it's a great place to jump off from for nature and Mayan culture as well. Should get things off to a great start (provided you're a little careful about what you eat and drink).

I've never been to Mexico, but that sounds like a good time. You can explore the ruins or kick back on the beach.... something for everyone.

Random power outages would be less of a problem if my smoke detector didn't beep every 5 minutes when the power was out. Solid 2 hours of sleep last night.
