I met some college buddies for dinner in Quakertown last night. The occasion is that one, who lives in North Carolina, is in Allentown on assignment.

The conversation was almost exclusively about the kind of stuff I remember my parents discussing at dinner parties -- the economy, healthcare, the real estate market, etc. Very little discussion of beer or chicks or entertainment or crazy stuff from our college days.

We all either just turned 40 or are about to. I guess this might mean 40 is the age where you have both feet over the line into "adulthood" for good.

I think it's dumb as well. But I don't find it hard to imagine a not too distant future where a new typeform of grammar comes about relying on phonetic spellings, the elimination of the apostrophe, and an over-reliance on the ellipsis. Also, things like the Oxford comma in the previous sentence are probably not long for any form of the written word.

I'm really interested in Sir Wizlah the Grammatical's opinion on this.
