A group of ambitious young students at the University of Waterloo want to bring an end to that with Quick Cite, which lets you use the camera on an iOS or Android smartphone to scan a barcode and have the app email you a properly-formatted entry (in MLA, APA, Chicago, or IEEE formats)

the reason i asked is becasue there is this sweet group trip in colorado that the organization i volunteer for runs. you get to go hiking for a week in the rockies and they provide all the food, equipment (tents, packs, etc.), and the guides for only $249/person. each trip has like 15 people in it. so the gas for each car would be split between 4 or 5 people.
anyways, i think it is an amazing deal.
