I'm glad the irony wasn't lost on you.

That's about as ironic as 10,000 spoons when all you need is a kniiiiiiiife.

For some reason, the word "politicapocalyptic" makes me think of the word "panopticon."

well, I'm about to find out how much of a wuss I can be, what with us about to be in nice creepy crawly countryside full of vipers and scorpions.

Preliminary research indicates the later hurts as much a bee sting (the italian ones, that is) the former hurts a lot more, neither fatal.

Still though, will be visiting the pharmacy in the wee town close to where we arrive, methinks, for antivenom. dinnae feel like panicking when monkeywiz decides to play with new many-legged friends and gets a bite.

Dunkin Donuts having their "Chocolate Month" in February has racial undertones to me.

huh. further reading indicates antivenom a complete non-starter, since most people don't administer it properly and compound the problem with anaphylaxis.

Apparently in the event of bitten child, sit them down, keep them calm, call the ambulance. And maybe get a bit of compression on the wound with a bandage to slow the blood flow.

I feel somewhat informed now.

Last time we stayed at this place, wizlette got stung by a hornet within minutes of entering the house. so at least we know she's not allergic to them.

It was funny afterwards, because I took a look about and determined that they were flying in and out of the eaves of our friend's house, and then when the fire engine finally rocked up and removed it, there was a fucking huge nest in there.

Actually that wasn't funny. every time I saw the picture of it, it made me skin crawl. But I had a bad experience with wasps nests when I was young.

I like this in the listing of symptoms:

Itchiness (usually masked by pain)

Oh, well that's all right then.

So when do I want to worry about a swollen lymph node? Noticed it (between my chin and neck, dead center) a few days ago. A little tender, but no other symptoms.

I'm not really sure, but I once had one and ignored it and then a few days later all of a sudden I could hardly breathe and it felt like getting punched in the face every time I swallowed (probably didn't help that I was working in a freezer box that day)

last time I cwied in front of my mom

last time I had a swollen lymph node was due to a smallpox vaccine. Did you recently contract smallpox?

I think you should get a friend to lance it for you.
