I notice that people from Australia and South Africa like to make cutesy abbreviations of words. It took me several minutes to figure out that a colleague of mine was saying "document" when she wrote "doco".

I had to make a toast for my parents anniversary. That was a pretty bad speech, though I did have one decent joke that received more than a charity laugh. Next toast opener is already planned out. I'll drunkenly open with a "If I could say a few words... I'd be a better public speaker."

When my parents had a 25th anniversary party they rolled it into my dad's retirement party and my mom had me say something for him. I had a few jokes in there and people actually laughed at a couple of them. Kind of wish I was gonna my best friend's best man this summer.
