Lunchmeats, Magic Tricks, And Other Random Thoughts

I keep getting relieved at work mere minutes after the early train leaves. So I keep having nothing to do for an hour until the next R8 comes through. I need to move, like, now.

I just dialed 911 because of some whacked out crackhead being all crackhead-ish outside my house. Some woman answered, so hopes of it being Barry Jive were dashed.

I used to work in a deli. Everything sliced is safe for 3 weeks. After that you're taking a small risk.

You don't slice your own meat at Wawa. No shit the lunchmeat there was only good for a week/ 2 weeks.

No deli at your supermarket or otherwise freezes their meat and it's all dated for 4 months.

I worked at a deli one summer and we didn't keep any sliced meat for more than a day or two, figuring that the consumer would then keep it for a week in their fridge.

For myself, I'll keep roast beef about 10 days, but ham and turkey doesn't last that long. Even my wife, who throws nothing edible away, will turn up her nose at lunchmeat much older than a week. The meat gets slimy and starts to smell bad.

I guess people shouldn't eat the lunchmeats from the deli I used to work at...

Not claiming to be an expert on the subject, just trying to say what we did.
