I remember when I first moved there back in 99, people were putting down deposits at open houses. If you got to an open house after the first hour and the place was still available, there was something wrong with it.

OK, so 11th and Irving is not too bad. You're near the N-Judah if you need to go downtown. There's a good number of good places to eat and drink east of 9th Ave. The neighborhood is more mixed than further west (you won't be the only white person in your entire line of sight). Parking is a bitch and a half though if you have a car.

If you have a mother in law, make sure you hammer out details of what utility costs you're responsible for. One of my friends lived in one of those (a bunch of my friends live in them actually), but my one friend's landlord barged in on her and her roommate one night using the landlord's key and started yelling about the increased water bill or something. Without notice. It was quite illegal.

I'm kind of amazed you have that open choice, kruk. Even in Philly, I feel like for a nice place in Center City or one of the good neighborhoods, you usually have to tell the guy right then that you like it and are willing to put down a deposit. Maybe you get until the next morning to decide.

I followed her closely for portions of a 15k in October without knowing who she was at the time, and can confirm that she is holding up just fine. Bit of a shame, really, that I've gotten in shape enough to finish in front of her these days.

From my limited encounters with her I'd say she's not warm, but not a problem to be around. It has to be tough when everyone wants a piece of your time on your off days.
