Taking my GREs tomorrow. Would be a bit more important if I didn't have a job lined up.

I'm taking CISSP tomorrow (which is why instead of studying I'll be posting here on and off all day because I know that's how I roll). I wonder which is harder (not in a competitive sort of way, just wondering). Doesn't matter, sucks either way.

If you mean between the GREs and that, it's definitely CISSP. GREs are basically like the SATs. I don't know what the CISSP is, but I'm sure it's harder than what I took today.

I ended up getting 720 on the math and 590 on the verbal. Hope the test went well for you (or goes well for you)

I have to ask what prompted this.

Actually, tomorrow in my case means tomorrow (Saturday). CISSP is Certified Info Systems Security Professional. Requires something like 7-10 years relevant experience to sit for - 6 hr exam. My brain already hurts. Going to stop studying soon, watch the game, and get a good night's sleep. I won't even know if I passed for six weeks (it's all manual - SECURITY!)

I never took GRE's so I'm assuming those are good scores else you wouldn't have posted them - so congrats.

The GREs: I remember how f***ing pissed I was when I took them. My goal was a 2200 overall (back then there were three sections graded on an 800 point scale - not sure about tdoay - a math, a verbal, and a logic section). The night before I took the test I got an 800 in the practice math, mostly because the math on the GRE is pretty much identical to the math on the SAT (since this is a general test, the test itself can't assume the taker has taken anythign past college algebra). Then, when I went in and took it live, I got like a 680 or something like that. So irritated.

Was she a classmate? Or like, someone you all knew as the girlfriend at the time?

I don't think anyone knew the wife. She was 7 or 8 years older than us. The guy graduated with us and gave updates on FB throughout the ordeal (the cancer was discovered less than a year ago, and they have a 5-yr old son), and he says he got a lot of support from us, so after taking 6 months off from work and going to DisneyWorld last week with the son, he wanted to return back home and show his appreciation by having a party with ex-classmates and their families at a public park. I think he's buying all the food and drinks too, and others are bringing desserts...
