Web ads are covering the bandwidth overages we have during the "busy times", like playoffs, big games, Halladay trades. The donations we got around the time of starting the web ads will cover at least the next year of hosting.

If Vox gets some time off, we serious have to look at upgrading the software, but that's just a time investment.

EDIT: Scratch that - it's more like $5. Speaking out of turn. We get our first check when it hits $100 and we haven't received that yet.

Happy to give a little seasonal love to BSG--as I think many would be.

I've had this thought many times, but enough of them have been while non-sober that I haven't expressed it: I'm flummoxed every time I think of the "value" I get out of this community compared to what I feel like I put into it.

Pathetic and sad as that arguably is, I doubt I'm close to the only one.

I somehow broke* my fucking TV today. Presumably there are worse days to do that, but not very many.

*This might be just a case of calling the cable company--problem is with the box, not the TV itself. But even that's a pain in the ass.

I'm pretty critcial of the HP movies, and I thought this one was probably the best. It wasn't all rush rush rush outpouring of information.

Everyone canceled their parties tonight. So what am I supposed to do tonight? It's the first weekend I've had off in like 10 weeks. I need to do something.

It got an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. I mostly liked it. I have no idea why Calvin is saying it was supposed to suck.

Does watching Dallas lose not count as doing something?

It would if I could go buy some liquor and guarantee myself usage of the TV.
The liquor is not an issue, as I would gladly make the five-minute walk to the liquor store even in the snow. I can't, however, guarantee I'll be able to even watch the game.

It's Optimum (Cablevision). I was actually on with a human being inside a minute or so of picking up the phone, and she was good as far as customer service, but couldn't solve it. So a tech is going to have to come out, and nobody is available until tomorrow ("10am to 8pm"). Guess we'll be watching DVDs tonight. (Or I'll stay in my office, where the TV does work. My wife wouldn't really like that, though.)

That Saints-Dallas game is NFLN, right? I don't have that anyway, so I guess it's not a huge loss.
