it's really quite pathetic if it works out that way.

The Republicans were able to do any thing they wanted with a much smaller majority. But Democrats, for better and for worse, don't march in lockstep like the right does.

I hope Tom Brady misses all of next season with a painful and embarrassing rash.

I hope Kevin Youkilis gets deported.

Harvard can suck it.

Snowe and Collins keep winning

Maine is not nearly as liberal as Mass. As long as the Democrats find a competent candidate, Brown is gone come 2013.

not what i mean, of course. conservatives are hailing this, but if he's truly a conservative he won't last. if he's not, they'll start disliking him fairly soon enough. i get hte feeling he'll fall in line with their pact of non-governance, though.

and mass is different from maine. he'll likely be swept out soon enough, unless he votes like so-called 'rino'.

it would be better if republican senators were, you know, open to anything. but they're not; they're completely obstructionist. 'I HATE GOVERNMENT! ELECT ME!'

I dunno, Pac. I mean, many conservatives seems to be convinced that pro-choice/pro gay marriage/socialized medicine signing Romney was one of them, and long time pro-life John McCain was not. I think the fact that a Republican is from Massachusetts causes conservatives to collectively hallucinate.

I don't think that's what pacino means

Scott Brown's a fucking legend

He could take a crap on Reagan's grave tomorrow and Redstate would still love him for at least a couple of weeks

It's a shame to lose the health care reform bill (which I was actually a fan of, for the record, half-measure though it was) but I think this Democratic congress needs the threat of a Republican filibuster to keep it from indulging its more economically illiterate impulses. So it could be not entirely a bad thing I suppose.

But McCain's a maverick, despite not really being one. They probably think Romney was just doing it to get elected, which of course they've said about Specter.

I love how Romney's completely downplayed his role and votes as governor since he's been on the national stage, and somehow turned into the conservative candidate du jour. it's really quite brilliant. even with healthcare, he attacks 'the bill', while never denying the need for certain healthcare reforms. i'd say he's really their best shot to win hte presidency back, but i think they'll be a little disappointed if he actually gets in there.

This would be like the Republicans losing Hatch's seat in Utah, maybe worse than that.

Rachel Maddow pointing out that Massachusetts isn't actually any more self identifying Democratic than the rest of the country. Solid point.

Can we officially kick Lieberman out of the party now? What's one more Republican vote?
