It shouldn't be 61 degrees in December (aka Random Thoughts)

I know what you mean. I think between the drinks and fish and chips, I'd be okay, I think it's more a problem of having soccer-liking friends or even friends period.

Also if you frame it as a gathering to eat and drink and that there will be a soccer game on TV rather than a gathering to watch a soccer game where there will be food and drink, you'll get a bigger crowd, but there's less of a chance they'll understand your dismay that Bradley decided to play Ching up front by himself.

Are the going to have to wear long pants? If so, you might need to invite around 7,000

None of my friends are over 35 years old. They're fine for 5 more years. Trent, don't conflate your own baring down on 40, and how it will change your sartorial choices with any problems I have.

I don't know your friends, but I wouldn't shortchange the World Cup's popularity and people's willingness to find any reason to drink. During the last World Cup, the Center City bars were much, much more crowded than they are for any Eagles game I've seen except the Super Bowl.

Plus the game is 2:30 on a Saturday

That's a great time to drink, but usually you need an excuse to. Your party=a great excuse for marginally responsible 30somethings to get drunk in the middle of the afternoon, while cheering for Uncle Sam.

There was one high school classmate of mine with little to no hand-eye coordination, so high-fives with him were practically impossible. It was just embarrassing when he'd get all excited, then graze the side of the hand he intended to five.

What do you call the opposite of a sharp turn? If you're at an intersection where two streets come in on the right side you would say "make a sharp right" to describe turning on to the one street, how would you describe turning on to the second?

that reminds me, are we getting together for football on a Sunday (I guess the 20th sounds good), or was that one of those things drunk people get excited about and don't do

I woke up this morning genuinely believing it was Saturday for a few minutes. I'm usually the opposite, waking up on Saturday thinking it's a weekday. Today felt as bad as those Saturdays feel awesome.

I was out sick Monday and Tuesday so yesterday was my first day in the office this week. You would think it might feel like a Monday to me, right? Nope. Thursday. Disappointment.

ATT's "solution" to too much data traffic: ask customers to use less

why is this "business" allowed to continue operating?
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)
