So as I was going back to change the laundry, I took down some recycling which had piled up. The recycling bins for the building were stuffed to overflowing, which meant I couldn't dump out the plastics/metals/glass bottles but had to delicately place them in one by one, which is delightful when you're talking about trash.

I left the blue container in the lobby, out of sight from the street, while I went to switch the laundry. (The laundromat, empty around 2.30, is now teeming with troglodytes.) I come back and it's gone. The super is now down in the trash area, emptying the big bins; he tells me that the psycho in apartment 17 took my blue bin. "He doesn't steal things, he just takes things," the guy says.

I pounded on the door; no answer. Finally I left a note.

If I could get away with it I'd kill indiscriminately right now.

Just an observation, but it's probably not a good idea to go pounding on the door of a psycho who takes people's trash.
