He didn't know what Evan Williams was.

It's only the official whiskey of BSG. Jeez.

I, personally, can not promise chicks. Half of my female friends moved out of town, and the ex took the other half. It fucking sucks.

I went to a Godsmack, Cold, Systematic, and Staind concert at the BJC with a girl I really liked and still do. We were on the floor and it was one of the best shows I've been at. We broke up three days later or something but she was the coolest girlfriend I ever had. Most girls wouldn't even go along with that even in high school

Reasons that arguing about music is better than arguing about politics, by me.

1. You really can't be right.
2. You really can't be wrong.
3. You can still be a condescending bitch if you are inclined to be a condescending bitch.
4. No one can accuse you, or your favorite band, of causing ruination or economic collapse (including 2 Live Crew fans).
5. It still powers that sense of pseudo-intellectual self-satisfaction while having no stakes whatsoever.

I don't know. People here get as catty about music as they do with politics. And often seem as inflexible.

It's completely subjective. I think people like to argue about it because they can't be proven wrong. It's whoever gets the most pig-headed first wins.

As for me, I have a raging hard-on for Soundgarden that is impossible to tuck away. Sorry about that.

Excusing the Steagles:Jean-Gilles::Crashburn:Cornell comment at the end there, I like argumentation as much if not more than anyone I know, and I like talking about (not necessarily arguing about) music more than anything else (aside from, you know, listening to it).

But with music, I can't accept that it's subjective. Well, it is, inherently, but so is everything in the universe worth arguing about. Music, however, has this near-impossible-to-find thread of objectivity running through it, and it's the Holy Grail of music evaluation.

It's that back-and-forth between objectivity and subjectivity that makes these arguments so great. Absolutes are silly, except when they're not. There's room for perspective everywhere, but sometimes they're stupid. There are no winners in a music argument, but everyone wins.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America
