I wonder if monkey renting hasn't had a little slump lately, what with the economy and the fact that the monkeys seem to be about to engage in open rebellion against us.

Luckily, we got our monkey party in before the whole chimp attack thing, or we might have thought otherwise about it. But, yes, this is definitely a slow time for monkey business; the owner just went and got a full time job to supplement his income.

I thought cricket was my domain in this thread.

And, uh, yikes. Scary shit. Thoughts go out to the families of the folks who died.

I saw a Dinka tribesman in Wawa this morning. He looked just like a young Manute Bol but was a bit shorter. Still over 7' tall though. He bought a banana and a Sizzli bagel.

That was a good story. I especially like the part about the Sizzli.

So I was going to bed around 1.30 last night and heard this drip, drip, drip in the room. Woke up my wife and switched on the light, and it turned out that water was coming in through our ceiling. We're on the third of a four-story building, so it wasn't "our" roof.

This went on all night, naturally. I just left a voice mail for the building maintenance guy, and called my wife at work because I was having trouble getting into my email remotely. Turns out that pretty much everybody on our side of the building is having this problem--and it basically comes from the fact that the super didn't clear the roof from the snow. One tenant has been dealing with this for seven years and writes "one would guess that you [the management company] would figure this out eventually."

Yet my guess is that somehow I'll still wind up paying to fix my fucking ceiling. Tell me again why I chose to purchase a home in spring 2007?

I really hope you didn't laugh at him, I'm sure that would have made him upset, and he would have pulled your pants down and made you walk down the middle of the street while everyone laughs at you and he follows behind in his little car yelling at you.

did you try to explain the concept of steagles to him? i hear that makes for a hoot.
if you don't know what the wrestlers are trying to do--how certain moves and holds are supposed to work and so forth, then it might just look like too sweaty guys rolling around on a mat.

Oh. I'm replying to a Steagles post. Um. OK.
