Not that that's true, of course, but the party is surely teetering on the brink of that perception. Amidst the bickering, I did like the launch of Rebuild the Party as an enterprising step in the right direction. Obama's online presence was remarkable and in general the GOP needs a stronger appeal to web demographics if they want to make a dent in the strongly Democratic youth vote.

There's an interesting question everyone could ask themselves. the proudest I ever was of voting was when I went back to Ireland to vote for ammendments to articles 2 and 3 of the Irish constitution, in line with the Belfast/Good Friday agreement:

As amended they grant the right to be "part of the Irish Nation" to all of those born on the island of Ireland and express a desire for the peaceful political unification of the island subject to the consent of the people of Northern Ireland. Prior to 1999, Articles 2 and 3 made the claim that the whole island formed one "national territory", which was offensive to unionists.

Not that I mind offending unionists, you understand, but you do what you gotta do to keep a peace process going.

The rumor is that both Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson were offered and turned down the RNC chair, and that Mike Steele is now the frontrunner.

Hell, I don't know. From what I read Romney was a hell of a fundraiser for McCain, I'd think they'd want him in the role.

But I think Mittens wants a crack in 2012, wouldn't the RNC position basically preclude that?

Maybe, but Katherine Lopez from NR was joking about that I think in the Corner yesterday, saying she offered it to them. It's not really her job to offer.

Lady co-anchor is just saying "DROP IT, MOVE ON, DON'T RUMINATE ON IT!", Joe knows his wife is gonna have his balls, and everyone else is just having a hoot at Joe the Intern Killer's expense.

I like how he kept talking, trying to gloss over it. And everyone else is laughing like a grade schooler.

If you're using these 2 times as your reference, I hope that Congress does not fall in line. Most of the policies in 1933 exacerbated the Depression, with FDR trampling on the Constitution enough to make Cheney blush (I think he was there FYI  ), while Clinton's business friendly policies were a lot less than the Democrats would have liked. I'll take the 90s over the 30s. I may have misread your post, though.

The show was live, and unlike SCARBOROUGH COUNTRY, the "F" word was not bleeped out. Earlier this month, the FCC ruled that Bono's acceptance speech and his use of the word that began with an "F" was not a violation of indecency rules. . . ..

Robert, it was at 8:00. Kids were watching this. You've studied television and pop culture. What does it say about our FCC that we've come this far or you could say gone this far backward that somebody could say the "F" word on TV and get the federal government's approval?
