When I was in Rochester this summer, their go to beer was Labatts. Really rather bizarre. Maybe Mrs. Palin is strong enough to overcome the siren song of mass produced Canadian brews.

When the McCain campaign finally lets her talk to the press in a couple of weeks, I hope a reporter asks her if she favors American or Canadian beer before we bother finding out about other foreign policy views she holds.

Evidently Todd Palin was an Alaska Independence Party member from '95 till '02. I don't think this is an issue at all--frankly, about half the time I'd like to see NYC secede, so I could come on here and make fun of you Americans and your stupid politics--but that this stuff keeps dribbling out would seem to confirm the flimsy nature of the vet.

My real question is this: given the massive subsidies Alaska gets from the federal teat, why would they want to secede from the U.S.? ANWR? The hope of a better deal from Russia?
