I love Halloween because women use the day as an excuse to dress in ways that they normally would not.

Which is a perfectly acceptable reason. But if you enjoy making lame poems about ghouls and goblins and witch's brew for your department's Halloween get together--banished

I usually dress up as a religious figure. I don't know how concerned you are about offending people but my Pope costume last year was a big hit.

That's not a bad idea. There's no concern in offending people at this wedding. The bride is wearing a black dress. They're getting married on Halloween because it's her favorite day of the year and she's obsessed with all things dark, bloody, and gory. She's even decorating the wedding place as a haunted house. This will be a fun wedding.

It's a good thing nobody cares about your book then. Also, you likely have parental issues of some kind if you don't think Halloween costumes are fun.

I know where you're coming from and can see how you'd feel this way, but it doesn't apply in this case. This girl is just into the dark stuff. This is the same girl who took a class in phlebotomy and was thrilled that she got to draw blood from people. Her fiance asked her to marry him on 06/06/06 for a reason. They're different people, but some of my favorite people in the world.

Oh, and they're the same people who have the naked parties.

In all seriousness, I wasn't talking about your search for a costume. I have no problem with people doing that

These personalities seem like a bad combo.

I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was like 12. It loses its luster once you realize you can just buy a bag of Reeses for like three dollars, and not have to go through the trouble of picking out the crappy Almond Joys and Three Musketeers bars to get to the good stuff.

Yeah, naked parties just lost some stock

A good Halloween party can be a blast, those who poopoo it are Scrooges and curmudgeons. A decent costume can always be whipped up on the last day.

"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

I wouldn't call them Goth. They might be confused with Goth people because they wear a lot of black, but I certainly wouldn't classify them as such.

idk, if you wear a lot of black and are "obsessed with all things dark, bloody, and gory," you're probably a redneck

Last year I wore a sweater, a fake mustache and an apron and went as Mr. Belvedere. This year I might lose the mustache, switch the apron for a grey sweatshirt and go as Tony Danza.

One year I carried around like 10 wallets and watches and went as a pickpocket.
