we got pill poppers and guys doing lines in their offices over here

Do you need qualifications ie masters degrees or rich relatives to get into that line of work?

Standards is just a word for "not drunk enough".

How did the spin the bottle/dating issue stuff migrate back over here?

Anyway, here's how I picture pulling off the spin the bottle thing. It does depend on how adventurous (and couples) your friends are. That is, you probably need to do this with people who are more or less single. Assuming everyone in your circle is concerned about this 24 year old who's never been kissed. You say, I think if we get him in a situation where he can't refuse, and is too drunk to be seriously embarrassed, we could address the problem this way, and heck, have a bit of fun as well.

I'd imagine single 24 year olds are horny enough that it shouldn't be too difficult to find at least 2 girls to go along with this plan.

Me and two guys from work have a couple Commerce Bank piggy banks that we throw all our change in and save up for lunch. We just had $154 of sushi and beer.

Saw a guy smoking a Sherlock Holmes-esque pipe today in his car on the drive home. I almost swerved off the road.

Tomorrow I'm taking my second personal day since joining the workforce 25 months ago. It will be spent in a car driving to Rochester, NY. It will be less fun than my first personal day, but it will still be 100x better than work.

I was. Got to the 'rents around 10pm last night. 16 hour trip (an hour more than I predicted).

Hit an effin' monsoon five minutes into South Carolina. Immediately, people turn on their hazards (while driving, even at relatively high speeds). WTF? Seriously, WTF?

This should go in the parenting thread, but even a potty break took a half hour, between getting the kids out of the car, getting them into the building, etc. There's no multi-tasking when you're going it alone. So while we drove for about twelve hours, we spent four hours out of the car (six breaks, plus two one-minute stops for me to throw out trash/pick up a dropped toy/quick stretch MY legs).

The best part of the trip was the first half-hour of the last 45-minutes. Kids fell asleep, and I got to listen to The Dawn Treader with no background noise. Until BabyVox woke up and started crying miserably for the last 15 minutes straight, falling asleep right as I pulled in the drive.

And I have no wireless. My Dad's setup isn't compatible with my old airport card, and he won't let me change it. bastard

I came across the Phillies 2000 yearbook last night. Boy did that team suck.

Whatever happened to Alex Arias?

Didn't know where else to put this, but this article and the picture in the article made my day.
"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "
