You can't say the season is on the line when a loss will mean they are 2 games up, but they better fuckin' win tomorrow because it's not going to get better having to play in Atlanta this weekend. But they look absolutely disgraceful right now. What the fuck was Marlon Anderson doing? Taking out the 2nd baseman is good but you cant shoulder block the fuckin' guy. And the ball was hit so slow even that scumbag Green would have beaten it out.

And who couldn't see a double play ball coming from Mr. Clutch, Shawn Green. Gotay should have been up in that spot.

Reyes obviously is having a terrible series to say the least and it shows you how valuable he is to the team, but Luis Castillo is flying under the radar. He needs to pick up Reyes and do the job setting the table and he has been just as bad as Reyes.

If David Wright takes another 3rd strike I'm gonna fuckin scream. 6 times he's been called out on strikes in the last 4 games. Swing the fuckin' bat.

A reward should be given to Lastings Milledge if he can manage to at least foul tip a breaking ball. Enough of him.

And I'm irritated enough, I'm not even going to get started with Delgado.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

I guess no one did. While they were interviewing Iguchi, Alf suddenly opened up the clubhouse door, and yelled out "Phillies!" or something like that then closed the door

Got back from the game and here are some thoughts...

the atmosphere was ELECTRIC....but I'm sure wheels already pointed that out.

Lot Q seems to be OK for tailgating.

Thought for sure (along with everyone down the LF line) Burrell had hit a slam in the 5th.

TONS of mets fans (including 2 people I went with). Most around us in 133 were OK. Supposedly there was some huge brawl in the RF stands though.

I was part of some kind of back door deal where the girl at a concessions stand offered me 2 beers for $10 if I met her at the back door.

On the way home 950 talking Phillies, 610 talking.....EAGLES!

So, a Thursday day game tomorrow. Hopefully the Phils will find a way to win one of those
I would rather see you lose than win myself

Can we PLEASE fire willie now? PLEASE? He has NO CLUE how to manage this team...and he really should have gotten LIVID there. I KNOW Anderson DID interfere, but a manager HAS to get tossed or at least YELL there. I swear, Willie gives this team Prosac.

Get tossed, um, after the game was over?

Anyone know why Chase didn't PH for Iguchi when up against Sosa?

Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Joe West spoke for Bucknor:
"Marlon Anderson went after the second baseman to break up the double play and did not, and could not reach the base, which is what he argued. He went out of his way to interfere with the play that created the interference. CB made a great call, made a gutsy call and he didn't back down from the call at all."

Randolph and Anderson are under the impression that as long as some part of your body touches 2nd, you can't call interference, even if you maul the guy...

Mets' offense this series: 2 runs...2 runs...2 runs.

Phils' bullpen this series: 10 IP, 0 runs

Marlon suggested someone look up the rule cause he obviously didn't know it since he had the bag so it should have been a clean play.

Well, Marlon, it's right on MLB's website:

Rule 7.08(b) Comment: A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not.
If, however, the runner has contact with a legally occupied base when he hinders the fielder, he shall not be called out unless, in the umpire’s judgment, such hindrance, whether it occurs on fair or foul territory, is intentional. If the umpire declares the hindrance intentional, the following penalty shall apply: With less than two out, the umpire shall declare both the runner and batter out. With two out, the umpire shall declare the batter out.

Just saw the highlight for the first time.

Anderson could almost make the argument that he was rounding second. Total cheap shot as well.

I do give CB Bucknor a lot of credit. Gutsy call, and good to see an ump make it.

Rounding second? I don't think it works that way.
