What do you ask for in return for Claude Giroux?
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

If it were Montreal I guess I'd ask for Galchenyuk, Gallagher, a low-level prospect, a first-rounder in 2018, and a 2019/2020 2nd rounder

It's so frustrating because last year was when we should have done this.

They made the playoffs last season and won 2 games against the Caps... it wasn't the time to be serious buyers but it certainly wasn't the time to tank IMHO.

Who would you have wanted them to trade last year at the deadline?

I was more referencing how good the top offensive players were in last years draft. This years draft is the worst in over a decade. Streit was coming off an injury but probably could have gotten conditional Kimmo-like return. Also could have traded one of the goalies. I'm saying this in hindsight too. At the time, I thought we were an up and coming team.

They are clearly having a disappointing season but I think that is still the case.

And in response Streit came out today and said he wants to stay and sign a short-term deal.

If he's on the team next year Hextall should be gone. This is a layup. Trade him for anything you can get.

Earlier Google searches had today listed erroneously. Not just needs to patch the new info.

Eklund says Montreal is also interested in Streit. I guess he'll be included in the Giroux deal amirite

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Flyers had contract talks with pending UFA goalie Michal Neuvirth today. TBD if a deal gets done or not...
