They made the playoffs last season and won 2 games against the Caps... it wasn't the time to be serious buyers but it certainly wasn't the time to tank IMHO.

They both haven't had a great year. Bishop and Halak are already out there as well. Don't think either gets moved. Maybe MAF.

Neuvy would be the one to go though because he is cheaper.

Don't they actually have to acquire a goalie since Neuvirth and Mason are both free agents so they have someone to expose in the expansion draft

don't think this would be a smart move. i'm guessing you're looking at 6/7 year deal at 6/7 per to resign him. i'd rather they flip mason or neuvirth for a backup goalie signed for next season.

i don't know exactly how it's calculated, but dim filipovic had a post a week or so ago that shows mason/neuvy have allowed 23.5 more goals than a league average goalie. i'd guess last year they were way on the positive side of that number. it's the same mediocre team that really had no business being in the playoffs last year. that led to people thinking this team would take a step forward, which i didn't think was realistic. long way to go yet.
