Hakstol was brought in here to coach up the young guys as they started to infiltrate the lineup. So far only Provorov and Konecny have made it and they look to be players with a good to great future. What's killing Hakstol is the vets on the team who can't seem to play sensible hockey. Game in and game out these clowns mess up.
Its really time for Hextall to clean the roster. Take bids on all of the guys short of G, Voracek, Simmonds and Coots along with Provorov, Ghost and Gudas. The rest of the bunch should be on the market. They're a poor bunch of dogs. How much worse would it be to kick MDZ, Schultz and Manning down to LV and bringing up Morin, Sanheim and Alt or Hagg? The kids may not be "ready" but the ones that are here and supposed to be "ready" are awful. The same goes for the bottom guys like PEB and VdV. I don't believe that Leier and Laughton are any worse than those two. PEB and VdV just skate up and down the ice and get scored on and provide no offense on their own. Luby, Leier and Laughton have to be as good of a checking line as what is out there now.

Hak doesn't help things by continuing to play VandeVelde and Amac. These healthy scratches are a joke for Konecny and Ghost

Goodbye Hak was a bit of a joke post on my part, but he can start by doing some trimming around the edges. They finally dumped Gordon, so that's a start, but they do have some guys down there who are probably better than VDV and PEB. Hexy and Hak need to work together to field a better team out of the break. Would like to see Leier and Laughton.

Certainly benching AMac would be nice too.

Watched the first two periods and missed the third thankfully. That escalated quickly.

easily the worst flyers performance i've ever witnessed in person. the last 5 mins were the skating equivalent of people just milling around on a street corner.

I don't get to see much Flyers out here in NorCal, but game was national today - it sure sucked to see that collapse. Didn't seem to have much identity.

What you saw today is pretty much how they've looked since the winning streak ended a month ago

Schedule's pretty out of whack this year. I think I checked the standings after Sunday and we had 5 games on the last-place Isles, who were 10 points behind us. Conceivably if they won every game in a 5-game stretch and we didn't play they'd be tied with us and they are in last place right now. So fucking weird.
